Advitech’s Functional Safety Engineers achieve TÜV Rheinland certification.

Advitech’s Functional Safety (FS) Engineers have achieved yet another TÜV Rheinland certification.

In addition to Safety Instrumented Systems and Functional Safety of Machinery, Advitech is now certified in Functional Safety for Hardware/Software (HW/SW) based on IEC 61508. This latest training addresses important new aspects of the international standard IEC 61508 edition 2, and the Australian equivalent AS61508, especially the consideration of software errors.

TÜV Rheinland is synonymous for safety, efficiency and quality of people, the environment and technology. Their functional safety courses consist of an intensive 3-4 day training program, followed by an examination which is assessed by an approved, independent third party. Certificates are issued based on knowledge and competency, and the certified FS Engineers are published on the TÜV website.

Advitech’s FS Engineers Mike Taylor and Iain Traill are two of the 8000 TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Engineers worldwide. Their solid reputation and experience in the mining industry has helped many customers to achieve compliance, design verification and conformance with MDG 2005.
