We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chemical/Process Engineer to join our consulting team and be involved in a range of projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemical/process engineering and have experience in specialised areas of hazard and risk assessment, hazardous area classification and Dangerous Goods audits.

Responsibilities
- Providing technical advice on process engineering and plant modification
- Conducting process engineering design including unit process specification and modelling
- Conducting hazardous area assessments / Dangerous Goods audits
- Participating in design reviews and HAZOPs
- Preparing technical reports and recommendations
- Managing relationships with existing clients and developing new business relationships
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients
About You
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following essential criteria:
- Bachelor degree in chemical/process engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia)
- Minimum seven years' experience, including consulting
- CPEng and RPEQ status, or eligible to achieve
- Practical process engineering experience including modelling software
- Experience in application of Australian industry standards and statutory regulations
- An analytical approach to problem solving with accurate data analysis skills
- Excellent communication and technical written writing skills
About the Position
Type: Permanent – full time or part time
Reports to: Lead Process Engineer
Location:Emergent Group Headquarters Newcastle is preferred, but we remain open to other options. Flexible work practices apply for this role.
Salary: Will be negotiated depending on your experience
